Annual General Meeting on 14 December 2020
A notice of advice for The Chartered Governance Institute’s (Institute) 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be distributed by each of the Institute’s nine Divisions in the week of 16 November 2020.
The AGM will be held virtually on Monday 14 December 2020 at 08:00hrs GMT (18:00 hours AEST).
The Institute’s Council has been monitoring the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Having regard to social distancing requirements and in the interests of the health and safety of our members and staff, the Council has decided that this year’s AGM will be held as a virtual event. This approach is in line with temporary modifications to the law and current regulatory guidance in a range of countries.
The notice of advice from your Division will include your Username and Password so that you can log into the meeting at the appropriate time. If you have not received the notice of advice from your Division, then please contact them directly.
The items of business for the meeting this year are to receive and consider the report of the Council on the business of the Institute for the year ended 30 June 2020 and to receive comprehensive financial statements of the Institute for the year ended 30 June 2020.
From the tabs on the right you will find the full Notice of Meeting, Proxy form, Council report and the comprehensive financial statements. Proxies can be returned directly to your local Division or to the Institute Secretary.
As this year’s AGM will be held virtually, voting and participation on the day of the meeting will be provided on a complimentary basis by Lumi Global and Streamgate. You can access the meeting here. Instructions on how to access the meeting can be found in the tab on the right.
I encourage all members to join the meeting, participate and vote and your International Council recommends that you vote in favour of the items to be put before the AGM. If you cannot participate in the virtual meeting then I encourage you to lodge your proxy beforehand.

Results
The 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of The Chartered Governance Institute (The Institute) was held virtually at 08:00 hrs. GMT (18:00 AEST) on Monday, 14 December 2020.
The business of the agenda were:
- To receive and consider the report of the Council on the business of the Institute for the year ended 30 June 2020.
- To receive comprehensive financial statements of the Institute for the year ended 30 June 2020.
Results
The vast majority of voting members approved all of the resolutions put forward at the AGM.
